These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BookNotes mobile application and related services (the "App", "Service") operated by Avale Solutions Ltd. ("we", "us", "our").
By using BookNotes you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
BookNotes allows users to capture voice and text notes while reading and generate insights from those notes using AI-powered tools.
Features may include:
- voice note recording
- text note capture
- transcription
- summaries
- insights generated from user notes
- exporting notes
We may modify or update features at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use this App.
If you are under the age required to manage an Apple ID in your country, you must use the App under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
3. Accounts
To use certain features of the App you may be required to create an account.
You may create an account by:
- signing in with Apple
- signing in with email
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
You agree not to share your account credentials.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you create using the App including:
- notes
- voice recordings
- transcripts
- written insights
By using the App you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to operate and improve the Service.
This includes:
- generating summaries
- generating insights
- processing audio transcription
We do not sell your content.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- upload unlawful content
- upload abusive or harmful material
- attempt to reverse engineer the App
- disrupt the operation of the Service
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules.
6. Subscriptions
Some features require a paid subscription ("Pro").
Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies.
7. Free Trial
The App may offer a free trial.
At the end of the trial period certain features may require a subscription.
We reserve the right to modify or terminate free trials at any time.
8. Availability of Service
We aim to provide reliable access but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Features may change or be discontinued at any time.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is".
To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for:
- loss of data
- service interruptions
- indirect damages resulting from use of the App
10. Third Party Content
The App may display or make use of content provided by third-party services, including but not limited to book metadata such as titles, descriptions, and cover images. Such content is provided by third parties and remains the property of its respective owners. We do not claim ownership of this content. Your use of such content may be subject to additional terms and conditions imposed by the relevant third-party providers. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of third-party materials.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.
You may stop using the App at any time.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically.
Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
